What is skin phototype?

Each skin is unique and has a different ability to assimilate light radiation, it is what we know as phototype.

Depending on the amount of melanin that our skin has, we can classify it into six phototypes, ranging from type I that corresponds to blonde or red-haired people with very light skin that burns easily to type VI, typical of black race. This is what is known as the Fitzpatrick classification.

In laser hair removal we attack the melanin of the hair with light impulses, so the greater the difference in pigmentation between the hair and the skin, the more effective the hair removal will be.
