Aesthetic diathermy

Aesthetic diathermy is an innovative treatment that is very useful in the medical, physiotherapeutic and aesthetic fields. Diathermy uses electromagnetic technology, which is applied locally to the area to be treated and provides heat to the tissues that require it. Numerous benefits are thus obtained: improvement of blood flow, reduction of pain and inflammation, muscle relaxation, etc.

To understand what diathermy in aesthetics is, it is essential to refer to the processes of revitalisation and rejuvenation of the skin. In addition, this ultra-modern technology is also used for liposculpture treatments.

What is aesthetic diathermy?

Aesthetic diathermy is developed with safe and non-invasive equipment., Its functions are corporal and facial and it can be used in medical-aesthetic treatments and physiotherapy.

The main purpose of aesthetic diathermy is to revitalise the skin through physical processes that activate natural phenomena. The most important are the stimulation and restructuring of the body's collagen.

In the work with diathermy, this restructuring of the deep collagen is fundamental, i.e. the formation of new and more beautiful fibres of this protein, eliminating and replacing the previous ones and providing more smoothness and elasticity. Diathermy offers visible results on the skin from the first application, thanks to the retraction produced by collagenesis phenomena.

In addition to the rejuvenation phenomena, the aesthetic diathermy machines help to reshape the body, accelerating the metabolism of fats. This significantly reduces their volume and associated problems, such as cellulite.

But the benefits of treatment with diathermy devices go beyond beauty, as they have a recognised and widely sought-after use in treatments on muscular tissues that favour the recovery of injuries and muscle toning. For this reason, it has also been widely used in physiotherapy and sports medicine centres.

Diathermy treatments

The benefits of this type of treatment are many and are visible from the first application. However, some people still wonder what diathermy is for. Well, its results are evident both from an aesthetic point of view and in its application in physiotherapy.

In aesthetic terms, the main virtue of diathermy is its ability to generate new collagen and eliminate old collagen. This results in healthier, younger and more beautiful skin. And, if we focus on body treatments, diathermy for cellulite or to reduce the abdomen is also very useful and effective.

As for its application in physiotherapy, its lymphatic, anti-inflammatory, soothing, relaxing, anti-scarring and restructuring properties stand out. Many types of body ailments can be reduced thanks to its action. And, of course, the preventive power of diathermy treatment is also remarkable.

Diathermy can treat facial and body aesthetics and physiotherapy. through deep tissue and circulation stimulation.

What is aesthetic diathermy used for?

Aesthetic and therapeutic diathermy allows a wide range of facial, body and physiotherapy treatments, acting in depth on the skin, tissues and circulation. Thanks to its controlled thermal action, this technology favours the production of collagen, firming, body shaping and tissue regeneration, offering effective solutions both to improve physical appearance and to relieve pain and prevent injuries.

Collagen stimulation and wrinkle reduction

Diathermy acts mainly on the forehead, lip contour and eye area, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. This reduces wrinkles, expression lines, bags and dark circles under the eyes, visibly improving the quality of the skin.

Firming, lifting and rejuvenating effect

The skin is progressively tightened and reaffirmed, acquiring a younger, firmer and more luminous appearance. A visible lifting effect is obtained without resorting to surgical procedures or recovery times.

Facial and eye contour redefining

Through deep tissue stimulation, diathermy helps to redefine the facial oval and eye contour, restoring more pronounced lines and a rejuvenated expression.

Body shaping and firmness enhancement

Body diathermy allows you to work on critical areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, arms and thighs, improving the firmness and appearance of the skin in a progressive, painless and chemical-free way.

Breast augmentation and firming

This treatment helps to firm the breasts and improve their overall appearance, helping to restore firmness and tone without the need for surgery or invasive procedures.

Reduction of cellulite, stretch marks and flaccidity

The thermal action of diathermy helps to improve microcirculation and tissue metabolism, helping to reduce cellulite, stretch marks and flaccidity, and restoring a more even and toned appearance to the skin.

Physiotherapy and deep massage treatments

In physiotherapy, diathermy is used to relieve muscle and joint pain, acting as a deep massage that promotes relaxation, recovery and the patient's well-being.

Injury prevention and pain relief

The localised application of deep heat helps to prevent injuries and reduce pain in muscular and joint pathologies, and is a common treatment to avoid or delay surgery.

Tissue regeneration and activation of metabolism

Diathermy stimulates regeneration processes in ligaments, tendons, bones and joints, accelerating recovery and improving the functionality of the treated tissue.

Improvement of microcirculation and reduction of oedemas

Thanks to its effect on blood and lymphatic circulation, diathermy helps to reduce oedema, swelling and fluid retention, especially in the legs, improving comfort and general well-being.

Aesthetic diathermy allows treatment of the face, body and deep tissues, improving skin, body contouring and functional recovery.

Capacitive and resistive diathermies

It is key to know in depth what is capacitive diathermy, what is resistive diathermy and what is resistive diathermy. and what each one is for. Above all, to always guarantee the best result in each case. Although the same equipment is used for their application, their effects are very different.

While capacitive diathermy focuses on muscles and its action is more superficial, resistive diathermy focuses its action, much deeper, on tendons, ligaments and bones.

Diathermy and Radiofrequency are not the same: diathermy works in deeper layers and offers a more complete and long-lasting collagen stimulation.

Is diathermy the same as radiofrequency?

Many people mistakenly think that diathermy and radiofrequency are the same thing. Although both techniques are used to achieve very similar aesthetic and body effects, their mechanics and results are not entirely comparable.

Specifically, the main difference between diathermy and radiofrequency has to do with their capacity for action and their scope. Thus, with radiofrequency what is generated are slight punctures at a rather superficial level. Whereas diathermy reaches the deepest layer of the dermis, managing to naturally re-establish its own collagen production.

The confusion arises because very often reference is made to radiofrequency diathermy treatments. This is, rather, one of the diathermy techniques that can currently be offered, which, moreover, offers very similar results to the others.

It stands out for its unique combination of high-frequency electromagnetic waves and the thermal effect that penetrates deeply into the area to be treated.

Contraindications to diathermy

In general, diathermy and the opinions that professionals and users have about it are positive. This is due, in part, to the fact that its effects on the face and body can be seen practically from the very first moment.

However, like any other medical-aesthetic technique, diathermy treatment has some contraindications.

The aesthetic practitioner is aware that diathermy should not be used to treat any problem or ailment if the patient presents:

In addition, diathermy is also contraindicated for pregnant or menstruating women.

Side effects of diathermy

On the other hand, out of responsibility and precaution, technical professionals who are going to carry out any type of treatment must always indicate to the patient if there are any side effects. However, in the particular case of diathermy treatment, these effects are non-existent.

Provided it is not applied to patients in any of the contraindicated situations, no side effects have been reported following diathermy treatment.
